Via Dolorosa

Several "stations" have been assigned to show the events that occurred during the carrying of the cross. Here we are standing in the traditional place where Jesus fell the first time. This is also the cross roads where the Via Dolorosa and the other possible path that Jesus took with the cross to the "Garden Tomb" area:
The original pavement on this area of the Via Dolorosa has been excavated from 9 feet below and brought up to the level of the current pavement:

The gate where Stephen was stoned. This is also the infamous gate that the Israeli troops came through when they took the city and the Temple Mount in 1967:

In our group we found metal, pottery, glass, bones and one turquoise stone that was put aside by the archeologist to determine what it was later. We did not find mosaic floor tile, which is prevalent in a lot of the rubble:
